Recycled items
Recycled items are made from materials that were previously wasted. These materials include paper, plastics glass bottles, aluminum cans and even electronics. Recycling reduces the requirement for new raw materials to be extracted from the Earth and helps conserve resources. This helps stop harmful disturbances to the natural environment and help reduce pollution of the air, soil, and other ecosystems. It also reduces the need to cut down forests, divert rivers, or hurt wild animals in order to harvest new materials.
Many of the items we recycle are used in new products. For example, recycled glass bottles can be made into new jars or pieces fiber glass. Wire hangers can cause fires in recycling bins, and pose other hazards to facilities that are processing recyclables.
