World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.
For example an item with the upgrade template ending in % will suffer 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level increases.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue level before the component can be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level using standard methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.
The player can get the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of the extent to which it will improve following a subsequent reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.
In the final game, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a statistic by. The value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. item upgrader can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.
The use of the Glyph can boost all nodes that are linked to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids, for example should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items lets players increase the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires a different number of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is leveled up.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. upgrade item is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This can be a downside since the item may become more expensive even if you do not need it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This can be useful, but shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the maximum roll by 10 points. This item is extremely valuable in PvP as an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrade r NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each each time you upgrade an item it is given a chance to fail--the rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state which means that the player has to pay for more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it increases its crit chance it will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost listed above.
