Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item are enhanced by upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment provides an increase in linearity of a given stat.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an indicator of the level of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item scales with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be done through many different methods that include using upgrade components and increasing an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their stats.
You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available all over all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. The most common method of upgrading gear is through the use of upgrade components which are the items that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots to upgrade, and many require a certain amount of upgrade. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses while others give general bonuses.
There are many types of upgrade components available in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be put on any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing additional crafting materials.
Choose the item from your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, and any necessary components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as blocked if you don't have enough of either.
The upper-right corner shows the number of upgrade components required for an item. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the level of upgrade and rarity, but it can be reduced using many different methods, such as buying upgrades at a merchant or trading them to other players.
Almost all weapons can be upgraded using the use of a prefix upgrade for example, an insignia or a rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded using a suffix upgrade. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to communicate visual information. They move to catch the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language and makes them more effective in communicating an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.
Each glyph increases the value of a stat by certain range. This is shown on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the maximum value that a glyph can enhance a stat by but not the amount it actually increases the stat by. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier as well as the quality of the product you are enchanting.
Most upgrade components inserted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a rune or glyph that hasn't yet been incorporated into your gear, you can move it to another piece of equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can take out the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed that it was installed in however, you can salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its fragments, therefore, it shouldn't be considered a loss.
Adding a glyph to an item may cause it to become unstable, and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you dismantle the item. You can also put a glyph on your equipment to make it more valuable. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This is useful for players who suffer lots of damage from enemies, but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens let players alter the affixes on their weapons and equipment, and can be found in a variety of ways, including in mistery boxes or as rare drops from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an affix randomly chosen and usually better than what they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled do not appear in the item upgrade menu, but they are still eligible to receive upgrades. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its level, therefore higher-level items are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.
Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls will roll a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.
Rerolling is a fantastic method to improve an item. However, players must be aware that the total ilvl is decreased by the number of rerolls it took to get it to the final level. This lowering effect is most effective with Diadems and ring items that do not have any other options for raising ilvls.
The reroll system has been criticized by players for being expensive, and it would be more reasonable to let players pay for it with money or food items that allows them to change their build without a lot of time and effort. The developers do not plan to introduce paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. Instead, they're planning to add a race change potion in the near future.
Leveling
There are several ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount, which increases the value of upgrading a given stat. item upgrader is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which boosts the healing or damage for an individual stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
It is important to remember that upgrades can be random. Most of the time, a higher roll is based on the glyphs. However there are instances when a greater or special roll could occur. The item type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique kind of item, it has a chance of receiving an upper level.
The cost of upgrading items can be expensive especially when you're upgrading an item of equipment from the standard to legendary track. The price will depend on the item's iLevel base and the number of upgrade levels it has. Some upgrade tracks also require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item will reach the maximum level on its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional effect. This will result in a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level. In general the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.
Based on the item's base level and its upgrade route, the iLevel of the upgraded item will also change. For instance an item that has been upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary item will be able to gain the Enhanced Defense of the base type of item.
